Think Thin Thursday

It's Think Thin Thursday -- time for an update.

I finally reached my goal (that one pound one from a while ago)! It took a couple more weeks than I wanted, but since I had gained a couple of extra pounds and ended up with 3 to lose, I feel pretty good about it. It's such a challenge with holiday deliciousness everywhere. I've tried to reign in the cookie intake, and I even chose to forgo a couple of great chai opportunities to skip the calories.
AND. I exercised. Once. But that's better than nothing. And I liked the DVD I used. I will try it again.

My goal for next week: 1 more pound!

Woohoo!

I did 25 minutes of Tae Box! Hooray!
Since I didn't meet my goal last week, I was hoping this week to get back down to my goal (which is 2 pounds now). We'll see. I got myself up off my laurels, and I'm considering that a victory.

Think Thin Thursdays

Bridgette over at The Not-So-Blog Blog is trying to lose some post-baby weight, and looking for people to suffer through with her! Seems like a good time to get serious on this blog.

So my goal for the first week is to lose one pound. And I want to do the Wii Fit at least 3 times, and figure out what on earth else I can do. And for petessake, I need to lay off the Halloween candy.

There you have it. Week one. Off we go then.

Day 2

Ok. This morning on the scale was rough. By changing my eating habits I'd managed to whittle the weight down a bit. Or 22 pounds. Over the past few months I've gotten really lax on what I've been eating. It's been inching back on. And now it's 6 pounds back. Grrr. Trying to remind myself it's not about numbers. It's fitness. It's fitness. IT'S FITNESS. fitness.

Eating
I did alright today. I made tacos with whole wheat shells and ground turkey for dinner. I even did better than usual on water intake.

Exercise
Yeah I did!! I took off from our house on foot to enjoy some fabulous fall weather. I went UP the hill. Then I went up more hills. Hills so straight up your heels don't touch the ground. And when I got to the top, I ran home. I walked some, ran some. Tried to push it. I think I reached the brink. Had I pushed it a bit more, I would have pushed too far. Might have made myself ill. But I did it. And for a girl who has never had a regular habit of exercise at any point in my life, I feel good.

Eating
I did alright, but not great. A friend and I did dinner at Arby's.

Exercise
Not really. Not today. Except for briskly walking about The Wawl-mart. But I did check out a Biggest Loser DVD from the library.

Thank goodness tomorrow is a new day. Thanks to my commenters for the encouragement! I'm looking into some of the suggestions.

Introducing -- another blog I will struggle to keep up with

Only worse. Because I'm going to try and hold myself accountable to fitness junk.

Background
I've never been a fitness nut. I'm not now. Not sure if I'll become one or not. In high school I had a metabolism that wouldn't quit. Where did it go???

Challenges
I'm a WAHM.
Two kids.
Freelance work.
Life.
Laziness.
Lack of follow through.
Emotional eater.
I don't like drinking water.
I live in MN where 9 months out of the year there's snow cover.

Goals
Because it's easier to work with a number, I'm going to start with 5 pounds. It seems doable enough, and I could use the encouragement of accomplishing a goal. But really I want less to do with numbers, and more to do with a general lifestyle of fitness. I'd like to tone up. I'd like to jog alongside the 5 yr old on her bike and not want to pass out.
