Introducing -- another blog I will struggle to keep up with

Only worse. Because I'm going to try and hold myself accountable to fitness junk.

I've never been a fitness nut. I'm not now. Not sure if I'll become one or not. In high school I had a metabolism that wouldn't quit. Where did it go???

Spark People
Wii Fit
running shoes

I'm a WAHM.
Two kids.
Freelance work.
Lack of follow through.
Emotional eater.
I don't like drinking water.
I live in MN where 9 months out of the year there's snow cover.

Because it's easier to work with a number, I'm going to start with 5 pounds. It seems doable enough, and I could use the encouragement of accomplishing a goal. But really I want less to do with numbers, and more to do with a general lifestyle of fitness. I'd like to tone up. I'd like to jog alongside the 5 yr old on her bike and not want to pass out.

If there is a "you". Encouragement, tips, suggestions, ideas, thoughts, accountability welcome.

I think the accountability is the most important thing (like with spark people). I used the daily plate to track my calories and exercise over the past year and lost 13 pounds. Now I just have to keep it off. I haven't been tracking anything on the daily plate for four months, and I've only added back 2 lbs, so I consider that a victory.

Good luck!

I suggest strength in numbers--not number of pounds or calories, but people to exercise with; I was in a stroller workout type group for awhile and it was great for motivation. Now that both girls are in school could you meet a friend to walk or do a workout video or something cheesy like that? Alternatively could the whole fam go walking/jogging/something a few days a week? Kids sleep better when they've been run outside a lot. These are my best tips, and I should note I'm totally on-again-off-again with any of them. Good Luck.

I clicked on you from Antique Mommy -- b/c we have the same name! :-) I am almost 10 years older than you (and that HURTS to say!!) but I struggle with the same stuff! I run a regular column on my blog: Fitness Friday. Come on over and check it out sometime -- it's relatively painless. You've gotten some great suggestions in comments. I keep track of my stuff at thedailyplate.com, too (you have to register -- but it's free). good luck! I would love to join you on your journey!

P.S. -- since you have an ipod, do you have nike+? I know it seems 'gimmicky', but I LOVE mine!!
